THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED - AGAIN!

What's holding me up is I'm confused about the nature of the music. Because the modern music doesn't reach me. I mean to say the sound of the modern electric production.Bad news readers: the great Joe Strummer is dead. Heart attack at 50!
It's been a shit year all round for aging Punks: The Ramones' lead singer, Joey Ramone, died last year at age 49 of lymphoma. Ramones bassist Dee Dee pushed the drug envelope a little too far and entered the big sleep in June this year.
Given the current crap that chokes the airwaves and brainwaves, they might just as well have committed suicide. I mean, for fucksake: Britney Spears? Avril Lavigne? Endless queueus of inane "boy" bands and "girl bands" dancing like that autowreck Jacko used to dance 20 years ago? (Hmm, come to think of it, HE still does dance like that!) Arrrgghhh!

Anyway, Joe, here's one for you, a song more relevant now than ever!

Spanish Bombs
(Strummer/Jones)

Spanish songs in Andalucia
The shooting sites in the days of '39
Oh, please, leave the vendanna open
Fredrico Lorca is dead and gone
Bullet holes in the cemetery walls
The black cars of the Guardia Civil
Spanish bombs on the Costa Rica
I'm flying in a DC 10 tonight

Spanish bombs, yo tequierro y finito
Yote querda, oh mi corazon
Spanish bombs, yo te quierro y finito
Yo te querda, oh mi corazon

Spanish weeks in my disco casino
The freedom fighters died upon the hill
They sang the red flag
They wore the black one
But after they died it was Mockingbird Hill
Back home the buses went up in flashes
The Irish tomb was drenched in blood
Spanish bombs shatter the hotels
My senorita's rose was nipped in the bud

Spanish bombs, yo tequierro y finito
Yote querda, oh mi corazon
Spanish bombs, yo te quierro y finito
Yo te querda, oh mi corazon

The hillsides ring with "Free the people"
Or can I hear the echo from the days of '39?
With trenches full of poets
The ragged army, fixin' bayonets to fight the other line
Spanish bombs rock the province
I'm hearing music from another time
Spanish bombs on the Costa Brava
I'm flying in on a DC 10 tonight
Spanish songs in Andalucia, Mandolina, oh mi corazon
Spanish songs in Granada, oh mi corazon

Joe old son, as the rabid dogs of war yap louder and louder, Xenox News salutes you!

Given the CWS (Current World Situation), we should maybe having the lyrics to "Rock the Casbah"?

Pithy Quotes

" But the Austrians are quite the stupidest people in Europe (as the Italians are the most perfidious), and there is a brutality about their mode of procedure, which will make most people think that is a case of a big Power wantonly bullying a little one. "
Herbert Henry Asquith, Prime Minister of UK July 28, 1914
