Just like the Canadians and Mexicans, we've been FTA'd right royally by Monsters Inc, USA and its ancillary corporate bodies Lobby Groups Unlimited and Protected Producers, Y'all! Free Trade? More like a Yank free-for-all!
Get ready for more manufacturing closures, and job losses and more Aussie kids talking and dressing like Yank kids.
Oh, yes, and get ready for the cost of pharmaceuticals to go through the roof.
Yep, cobbers, get ready to buy American as you never have before!
Thanks Johnny, you stupid old fucker, you've almost finished the job Keating started of selling off the whole bloody farm!
I guess sucking up to Dubya and following the Yanks in their illegal, terror-expanding invasion of Iraq didn't get you the pat on the head you thought you'd get.
Our only hope is that the Senate blocks this bullshit FTA!
Silly old Bunt! Let's vote the crook OUT!

The FTA is just more of the same from PM John Howard and US President George W Bush. The PM tells us our Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme – the envy of the world - will be unaffected by the new free trade agreement. Really? Why then does the US say the FTA means Australia will have to make a number of so-called "improvements". The Howard government would have us believe local content in Australian broadcasting is protected. Oh yes? Why then does the US claim its films and television will have "unprecedented" provisions for improved market access here. Given his history of brazen lies what else would you expect from John Howard. |

The Slime Minister strikes again! "The free trade agreement with the US nearly collapsed during the final negotiations in Washington. Trade Minister Mark Vaile and his officials were several times at the point of walking out and flying home over the miserly US offer on agriculture. In the end, it was John Howard who decided to accept the offer rather than risk getting nothing... " http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/02/16/1076779903098.html - Dusty Davo from Derrimut |

"The FTA may introduce obstacles and legal traps which will have serious and harmful effects on almost all Australian software developers. It's a whole-of-industry issue for Australia," he said. Australian Linux bodies blast US free-trade deal |
