Given the Yank modus operandi of bullying, bribing and bullshit, any UN mandate granted at this point will be meaningless. The history of Yank intransigence regarding the UN is rife with this sort of thing. The bastards either get what they want or pack up their bat and ball (and money) and go off in a huff.
