Iraqi 'fun'-da-'mental'-ists today welcomed US forces into the streets of Baghdad with hugs and flowers. Several thousand armed men, led by a man by the name of Abu Hatem Mohammed Ali, captured the headquarters of the governorate, (365 km) southeast of Baghdad, without support from U.S. forces. Meanwhile Kurdish fighters still face off with Iraqi soldiers as they close in on Mosel.

ALI Ismaeel Abbas, 12, was fast asleep when war shattered his life. A missile obliterated his home and most of his family, leaving him orphaned, badly burned - and blowing off both his arms.
