Not content with a highly acclaimed support song, and a ground breaking global protest video to accompany it, indie-pop artist Tara Hack has today released a YouTube video tracking her "Free Schapelle Corby" tour around New York City. Back home, however, it appears that censorship has raised its ugly head.
The City of Liberty Confronts Censorship
Not content with a highly acclaimed support song, and a ground breaking global protest video to accompany it, indie-pop artist Tara Hack has today released a YouTube video tracking her "Free Schapelle Corby" tour around New York City.
The tour takes in a range of landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty and Times Square. Tara is filmed performing in various locations, including Penn Station, with cuts to images of Schapelle in her prison cell, and dozens of 'Free Schapelle' human rights protesters from across the world.
Music review analyst, Jan Fielding, of Margin House Records, commented: "Creatively, what Tara Hack and Cloud9 are doing is extremely exciting. They are breaking boundaries and innovating in an area of music which has been stagnant for years. It isn’t surprising that they are catching worldwide attention"
Mainstream Censorship
That worldwide attention, however, seems to exclude Australia.
Rachel James, of 'Artists for Schapelle' told us: "It is true that the song and the video is being hidden in Australia. Here we have an incredibly talented artist, a truly beautiful song, an historical landmark video presenting a unique global protest, about an Australian, yet the Australian mainstream media ignore it, pretending that it doesn't exist and printing trivia instead."
She continued: "Some time ago a film was produced which analyzed the media agenda and operation behind this type of censorship: 'Burying the Truth, Burying Schapelle Corby'. The mainstream's reaction therefore comes as no surprise. Having said that, ethical journalism does seem to be alive and kicking by virtue of some of the alternative media, who have reported fairly and accurately throughout."
Tara herself is unperturbed. When asked recently why a New Yorker should care about an Australian, she responded "I am a human before I am an American".

Some people are extremely sad: like the guy calling himself "Voice of Reason", who trolls every Schapelle Corby story to spout semi illiterate compassionless bile - as fed directly by the mainstream media. The irony of this completely escapes him, given the topic of this story. You have to laugh. It’s simply pathetic. I watched the video. It really is something. They both are. The media one should be mandatory viewing for every Australian who has bought into what the media has sold them for over 4 years. The tragedy is the terrible suffering that this has resulted in for Schapelle Corby.

Voice of "Reason" I hope you remember those words someday when you're accused of something you didn't do! Does your simple brain actually believe that everyone who has ever been conviced of something is guilty? Do you have any idea how many convictions are overturned in the US which unlike Indonesia actually has a fair judicial system. Get with reality! Simple as that. |

| The only fact that turned Schapelles world upside down was that pot was in her boogie board bag. Could it have been put in there by someone after she checked it in at Brisbane luggage check in? ABSOLUTELY COULD HAVE BEEN ! Many had access to the bag after that. Would they test the pot? No. Any surveillance footage? Conveniently, No. Did they weigh the luggage compared to check in? No. Any follow up investigation of trafficking? No. On and On and On. She should have walked that day!!! Australian government? Silent ???? |

| I suggest you read the facts(Tony Wilsons) book "SCHAPELLE" BEFORE YOU MAKE JUDGEMENT! ONLY THEN CAN YOU BE IN A POSITION TO MAKE A FAIR AND HONEST OPINION AS TO WHETHER SCHAPELLE CORBY IS GUILTY OR INNOCENT. THIS BOOK IS UNBIASED AND TRUTHFUL ACCOUNT OF THE FACTS. ITS EXPLOSIVE READING UNCOVERING COLLUSION, CONSPIRACY, AND POLITICAL CORRUPTNESS WITH THE MEDIA FEEDING THE PUBLIC NOTHING BUT EXAGGERATED LIES. |

If an Indonesian arrived with a bag of dope to any western country and the officer at the customs desk said he heard the tourist admit he owned the drugs , it would probably go down like this... Superior "so he admitted to you the drugs were his" ? C.O. "yep told my flat out they were his" Superior "so he speaks english eh"? CO "no he confessed to me in Indonesian" Superior "oh right you speak Indonesian" ? CO "nope hardly understand a word" Superior "GET THE F# |

Why don't you join up with the 9/11 conspiracy nuts? I am sure in your twisted imaginations you Schapelle lovers could concoct some global conspiracy between the Indonesian Government, the Australian media, and Uncle Sam, that involves keeping Ms Corby in prison for having someone stick a bag full of dope in her luggage. Crazies. |

Mr Jansen Can you give me a plausible answer as to why Schapelle would request the footage from every airport her BB bag went through? She was under threat of execution at the time she made the request. If any cctv footage showed her bag to be thicker then it should have been, it would have been proof positive and she would of had to change her plea to guilty. What do think she was suicidal at the time? Also Mr Jansen have you ever heard of the police holding evidence, and destroying that evidence before all appeals have been exhausted? If the marjuana came from Australia there was no need to destroy it.If it was Indonesian dope, the police would want it destroyed as quickly as possible. It would be a tad embarrassing for them when it was tested and shown to be Indonesian. Australia should of demanded a sample to DNA test ! This was not a charge of possession,Schapelle was charged with smuggling drugs from one country to another. The Indonesians had a legal duty to forward a sample to the AFP.Mick Keelty on Jan 31 2006 reported that Schapelle NEVER requested the marijuana tested. I have a copy from the Australian Consulate General Bali in front me that requests for the DNA tests to be DONE .the date on the request is 23rd December 2004. Do some research Mr Jansen , you might actually be amazed at what you find. |

| KD has hit the nail on the head. Some of the corby bashers go as far as to say that WE are the morons. After we have explained all the facts. But the trolls with who project their bile have nothing to back up their opinions. " Oh It was found in her luggage." or " I know all there is to know about the Corbys. They are drug dealers." |
