"The sheik told The Australian he had spent 50 years promoting peace and accused the prime minister of running a dictatorship.
"It's a disgrace for the leader of a democratic country to be picking on religious people, especially one who is practicing a form of dictatorship that could almost be Saddam Hussein-like," Sheik Alhilali was quoted as saying.
"I respect Australian values more than he does."
I thing that Howard is not a dictator as perhaps Saddam, Marcos or Pinochet or Amin was but 11 years in power and lying through his teeth to win elections says to me that if we are not going to split hairs, then this constitutes a dictatorship well and truely, so I can't really fault the statement and/or at least the sentiment he had in mind.
Read it carefully and you will see that Hilaly does not say that he HAS more Australian values than the PM but that he respects them more than he does. Who are we to say that he does NOT?? It is an intangible thing so hard to put an absolute value on and so maybe he is right. Define them first anyway.
Also, he is right that Howard should not be picking on religious leaders. Very right. If he wants to castigate people, he should stick to those in politics or maybe economics but not religion.
Anyway, he forfeited his right to pick on Hilaly some time ago when he thought it was OK to make a very pro-Christian speech at the Hillsong Church, espousing the virtues of being a Christian. How dare he. What an outrage!! WE are supposed to see to it that Church and State are seperate, yeah?
If he going to do that, he can't go round criticizing religious leaders because it makes him look like he is getting involved in that area.
Let's all take a deep breath and see the Mufti's words in a different light instead of saying that he is a nutcase etc... That's the common line they always use when a comment is made that the govt feels uncomfortable about.
I am not a supporter of the Mufti or his rhetoric, nor am I am muslim or any affiliate of Muslims but just looking at things differently.

Citiznes should need to force their Nations to look at things just ONE WAY, their way. Citizens have the power to force their governments to listen to the. The White Majority (in western nations) have the power to elect people that will represent their interests and preserve their rights. But,why don't they do this? Why doesn't the majority elect only those people that will preserve majority interests? To do otherwise is self-defeating. Nations do not become stronger as a result of diversity; they become stronger as a result of homogeny. The answer is "Laziness". People become lazy, and don't care about preserving their Nation for themselves and for their children. People become greedy and will whore out their Nation for more money. Greedy and Lazy people who preach diversity, imigration, and global economy must be outed. These people must be named. They must be methodically listed, tracked and catagorized. They must be restricted. They must have their businesses, wealth, and greed-driven enterprises stripped from them. They must be gathered up and placed in restricted zones. This is what strong Nations are built upon. Intolerance of those who would undermine society or diversify society to a point where it is not even recognizable any longer, shall be revered!!! Shall be praised. Shall be promoted into the ranks of guardians who would protect our National interests. This is the only way to survive and continue to thrive. One Nation, one people, one spirit, one way. For the preservation of National Pride, furtherance of National Prosperity, and new generations committed to National Unity. |

Ricky, land-price speculation drives the majority of the national white-anting activity. Just make land speculation a crime, stick speculators in prison and confiscate their so-called investments instead of glorifying these parasites. Almost immediately the immigration/multiculturalism racket would crumble, housing would become cheaper and a better balance of work and wealth would result. It might even be possible to have some sort of nation. We might need to exterminate politicians to get the ball rolling. - Ex Liberal Voter |

Australias much vaunted adherence to the principle of seperation of Church & State is a farce. Out Head of State is also the Head of the Anglican Church. Our politicians interfere outrageously in the affairs of a Church - in this case Muslim religious organisations. It should not be the concern of any politician if a religious leader advocates certain behaviour to his congregation provided it is not illegal. As far as I am aware, supporting Iran in its confrontation with a hypocritical Western campaign to deny it the right to do what is routine in those same Western Counties, is not a crime. Iran is not our 'Enemy' and we are not at War with that country. In this sentiment, I can only presume that Hilaly speaks with the conviction that the vast majority of Muslims in Australia agree with him, as do a great many non-Muslim Australians - as do a great many people from around the World, who would consider that it is our Illustrious Prime Minister who is actually an unindicted War Criminal. |

When Australia boots out every Muslim dog, woman and child, then you can claim that Australia interferes with the muslim religion. Australia doesn't take up arms against satanists or even muslims, for that matter. Everyone has a right to speak out against evil, even government officials. Islam is evil, as it has shown time and time again, and therefore every government official and citizen is fully within their rights to call a islam exactly what it is - a demonic pig religion for perverted murder worshipers. |
