We all know that in society there are "winners" and "losers". Winners tend to be conservative, because they are quite successful and want to keep the status quo. Losers tend to be ultra-liberal to anarchist. Why? Well, because they are poor, lazy, struggling, anti-social, runts that can't make a go of it without begging off of "the system". But, for arguments sake, lets say that USA or Australian society and government completely broke down, for whatever reason. What would happen? Would Chato and a few other anti-socials take over? I hate to inform you, but the answer is NO!. The same people who control the wealth in one government will control the wealth in another. Most people got wealthy by taking calculated risks, hard work, brains and a little luck (none of which Chato can demonstrate he has). once people attain wealth, they take a shit-load of measures to make sure that they won't lose all of it, even if the government fails. What has Chato done to make sure he will be a "top" when anarchy topples the current regime?1) stockpile automatic and semi-automatic guns and hoards of ammo? 2) have secret stashes of foreign currency, gold, platinum, palladium, silver, diamonds? 3) stockpile hard liquor, cigarettes, and medications? 4) buy some land and a cabin in a "safe" undisclosed location? Noooooo. Chato probably lives in a rat-infested appartment in an area not much different than New Orleans. Most likely when disaster hits, he will either be quickly killed or find himself living in the equivilent of a government sess-pool like the SuperDome, until he gets caught robbing the hotdog street vendor, or someone gives him a handout to upgrade to a rented single-wide trailor. Old Ricardovitz, on the other hand, will just go to wherever the disaster isn't, sit back and drink mint julips, while guarding his plantation with stratigically located firearms.
