Aging Australian PM John Howard paid his respects to dead Catholic Leader Pope John Paul II at a Liberal party function in Melbourne today. “He has been a great warrior for freedom and democracy and a destroyer of that great evil Communism,” Howard said.“And to think he remained on the job till he was 84! He really inspires me, and I am definitely planning to continue as Liberal leader and PM to that age as well.”
Showing all his usual spine when it came to standing up to 70 year old Howard, leader-in-waiting Treasurer Peter “Dickless” Costello had no comment on his bosses comment.
