The secret life of the cartoon character has always been a source of suspicion and interest.

I remember when I had it confirmed to me that Betty of Archie’s comic fame was a junkie. I was shocked and stunned. But then I began to wonder what of the others? Reggie always seemed to me as being out of place in Riversdale. Was he her dealer? Perhaps he was like the Frank character from Blue Velvet? The source of all evil in the town but an indispensable part of it?

Drugs, lies, community politics; it was all part of the plot.

And Veronica. Has there been a more beautiful woman/girl? Ah, if only she had been Japanese! She slides through the scenes with the sensuality of a great temptress. Her lustrous black hair, voluptuous hips, her blazing black eyes. A living doll. How could such a beauty be in such a place?

Tex Avery, the quintessential socialist liberal that slaved for MGM, was the creator of Elmer Fudd. Mr. Avery had a strong aversion to hunting and this was brought out in his cartoon charicters, especially Elmer Fudd. Elmer was usually cast as a hapless big-game hunter, armed with a double-barreled shotgun and creeping through the woods "hunting wabbits." Mr. Avery sought to indoctronate young Americans about out what he considered to be the crulties and absurdities of hunting game.

I imagine Ricky and Porky Pig going at it - a-la-Deliverance-style.
