Stout Aussie PM John Howard has called new US President hopeful Barrack Obama’s bluff over Iraq. PM Howard has rightly portrayed Obama’s call for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq as a victory for Osama and his Al Qaeda minions. And no amount of squirming from the latte sippers can change that fact. The Democrat Senator Obama is making the same mistake other leftists leaders in the West have made: thinking that by cutting and running in Iraq they will appease the terrorists. But he is wrong. The terrorists will not stop at Baghdad. They will only be emboldened further, and with the continuing support of other evildoers in the region such as Iran, who knows what havoc they could wreak on our allies and friends.

PM Howard has rightly said that now is not the time to quit the fight on terror. Only by supporting our troops and their brave leaders can we hope to defeat this menace to our civilization. Indeed, with Tehran desperate to have nuclear weapons and only too willing to use them, the victory in Iraq is more crucial than ever. It is about time that the left side of politics stopped their cheap political point scoring and started to back our troops who are fighting for their freedom.

    What about the terrorists in Iran, Pakistan, Indonesia, North Korea, London, Latvia and up the Kyber?

    I suggest the US and Australia enforce conscription and deploy all healthy men between the ages of 17 and 40 to any country suspected of harbouring terrorists or weapons of mass destruction.

    Anything short of this would be irresponsible and as the "terrorists will not stop at Baghdad. They will only be emboldened further" if we don't attack them at every chance.

    Airstrikes over these areas will also help destory our evil arch-enemies.

    Bombing the fuck out of Iraq is obviously not enough.

    Start World War III now to protect the safety of our lifestyles.

    John Howard is right! Do you think he can multi-task and be pres of the U.S. in 2008? Hitlary or obama would be a disaster. I like Rudy, but he is weak on the horrible illegal immigration going on here. You guys have a great leader!!     Howard said that an Obama victory would be a boon to "Al Qaeda in Iraq," which is quite different than Osama bin Laden.

    Either way, it's baloney. We're escalating the war in order to prevent what our invasion made inevitable? Doublethink. You can't prevent what already exists. That's not leftist thinking. It's realist thinking.

    Osama thinks the West will fold like the USSR in Afghanistan. The West must hold its nerve in Iraq. It might lead to tragic loss of life but it is better than price of failure: a fundamentalist Islamic Caliphate which would hold the World to ransom with it's oil production.

    No Phillip, you got it all wrong. It has always been the U.S. govt and US oil companies that has held it's own people ransom. They have constantly bought engine technology that allowed cars to run on alternative fuels for years. Either that or killed the inventor. It is a documented fact they have been responsible for expanding the Los Angeles freeway system to the detriment of public transport. The proposed rail and tramlines and the ones that got built are either no longer there (ripped up) or they are very small or insignificant because of oil company lobbying.
    So how dare you say that you fear a caliphate state will hold you to ransom? If they did, it would ONLY be because you did nothing about alternative fuels for the last 50 years at least. And all the while the West was promoting economic growth, fuelled by oil supply...and the oil supply was being helped along by US funding in order to get it out of the ground where the Arabs did not have the money to do it themselves.

    And now you are so addicted to it, you are scared that it will be used against you. What a chump you look like.

    I saw the Aussie defence Minister on TV last night and he seemed to offer some valuable insights into why must stay in Iraq. We have to do it for the children.

    The whole war o­n so called terror is fake, and a lie. We have seen on channel 10 in Australia that how the attck on world trade centre was done by Bush administration to portray as a terrorist attack. One plane used in the attck was a cargo plane ,not the passenger plane. We have seen on television that one of the twin towers was blasted just before the plane hit it. It was clearly shown in a close up view that something was attached to the bottom of that plane to blow the building up. What else it could be? Obviously a bomb.

    Since George Bush came into power, we have seen lots of destruction and chaos in the world. Why cant Americans let live others in peace to get some peace for themselves? Why they have to interfare with other countries domestic isues? It is very clear that United States invaded Iraq on the ground that never existed. Now the only way to establish peace is to apologise with Iraqi people and help them in reconstructing their country. But certainly Americans are not going to do this because they think they are super power and they can suppress anyone and whole world knows this.
